Expert System in Function Control of Maintenance

Maintenance guiding is based on the decisions of maintenance activities, the very decisions being in the function of time and may be of a strategic (long-term) and operating (executive) character. The efficiency of the system by anticipating and preventing failures is either of the mentioned decisions. A stohastics character of mechanical system conduct in exploitation, being manifestid by an unexpected failure, needs an actual condition diagnostics in order to make a correct decision on maintenance activity. This paper aims at presenting the efficiency and complexity of problem solving at bringing decisions on maintenance, by applying an expert system as a form of artificial intelligence, based on which the failure may be anticipated by means of an actual (instantaneous) state of the defined parameters and failure probability, depending on the measured value of parameters.
